
About the Classes: This three-day seminar will be a master's class aimed at digging into the sounds, techniques, writing style and influences of Jimi Hendrix. Jimi’s unique sound came from his hands as well as his equipment, and the seminar will delve into many aspects of his musical genius. We will work through many of the fingering techniques that Hendrix used, including a closer look at the pedals and amplifiers he used. We will also spend some time examining the influences that Hendrix drew upon to create some of the most recognizable and well-respected music ever recorded. In addition to these discussions, the sessions will provide a number of musical examples to help each student put it all together in a comprehensive approach to incorporate the elements they have learned into their own music and playing style.
Who Should Attend:
The classes are open to guitarists of various ability levels and will present helpful instruction on topics ranging from Musicians with experience on instruments other than the guitar may wish to attend, but must keep in mind that this seminar is designed for guitarists and techniques used with the guitar. (Please inquire about special rates for non-guitar players.) These Master Classes will be limited in size and filled on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified candidates. We especially welcome players with an open mind and good attitude. technique, performance
skills to artistic interpretation and more. A good candidate for the
classes will have mastered a basic understanding of chords, scales, arpeggios
and some music theory.
